Come see the greatest golfers in the world
and help fellow Hokies!
Please join with other Charlotte Hokies at Quail Hollow in
working concessions at the Wells Fargo Championship. We'll be raising money to fund our local chapter scholarship program as well as chapter activities that support this program.
When you volunteer with us at the Wells Fargo Championship, you are given free admission for the half of the day that you do not work (either before or after the shift you select [see below]). As a volunteer, you also receive a free meal voucher the day of your shift.
We will be working with the same vendor from previous years, running Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream carts (located in prime positions along the course).
Some Important Notes:
The Championship has strict dress requirements. Please
read these and contact one of our representatives (listed below) if you have any questions.
We are again providing our volunteers with free "VT Volunteer" polo shirts that meet these requirements (men & women sizing available). In order to cut down on costs, we ask that you only submit a polo size (below) if you did not receive a shirt volunteering last year. We ask those who did volunteer last year to please reuse the polo received at that time.
There are various shuttles and other transportation options. Please read
this overview for more information.
Plan on arriving a half hour early in order to check in and basic training. Please take into consideration
any possible delays in the shuttle loading/unloading and the
on-course walking time to make sure you arrive at
the appropriate time
All volunteers must be at least 16 years of age or up (ages 16-18, working with an adult).
Actual Testimonials From Our Volunteers:

"I look so forward to doing this event each year! What a wonderful way to spend a nice spring day! You only have to work a half-day. The rest of the day you can walk around and enjoy the golfers. If you don't like to watch golfers, it is a beautiful course to walk around and look at the awesome houses. It is wonderful that you enjoy the event, plus you are helping scholarships for VT prospects. I can't wait!"
"Wednesday was great; Phil Mickelson stopped by and bought ice cream for a bunch of people. The players aren't allowed to stop and talk on Thursday through Sunday."
"Angel Cabrera 's ball hit my cart. He had to play it and I got a story to tell and my picture in the Charlotte Observer."
"This almost sounds like a scam, but from volunteering for many years, I can testify that it's not... All you have to do is spend a few hours selling $5 Ben & Jerry's ice cream bars. In return you get into the tournament (worth $35 - $50, depending on the day) for free for a day, a food voucher for a sandwich, side, and a drink (worth @ $10), AND you get to eat Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream (valued at $5). Plus, last year they added the free "VT Volunteer" polos for volunteers. You get much more out of it than you put in."
