Community Service
Update
- Operation Christmas
Child - Date has been set
for Wednesday, December 7th. Lauren has
prepared flyers to hand out at football
parties.
Bus Trips
- Duke Bus Trip was canceled
- We have four people signed
up for the BC Bus Trip so far. Jennifer
will check with Henry to see if we can purchase
game tickets and offer as a package deal.
Social Update
- BBQ- Date
has been set for Saturday October 22nd at
Freedom Park #2
- Jennifer will check on SAA student
coming with Andy and painting faces.
- Derek is checking with his sister,
who is a Hokie Bird, to see if she is
available to come down.
- Les is checking with Red’s on
pricing. We were thinking $10 a person.
- Once all details are confirmed we
will send out a local email as well
as one from B-burg.
- Ideas for Socials-
We decided that we will hold off on planning
socials this fall. We would like to revisit
the idea during a slower time of year.
Beer Tasting
- The event will be held
at Green Rice Studio in NoDa on Nov. 12th.
- Jason Lewis will be our
“beer expert” He is a recent
VT Grad.
- Jon is checking on how
many linens we have. After we decide how
many tables & chairs we need to rent,
Jennifer will contact Party Reflections.
- Beer Tasting was in Mailer,
Nikki has had some interest.
- After Jason gets some info.
About what beers we will have, we will send
out an email invite to local alumni.
Football Watching
Parties- Fox& Hound
- Jon is going to email the
GM of Fox &Hound concerning our recent
issues with their ability to accommodate
our needs.
- Jennifer will work on setting
up a meeting with Emily, the event planner
there. I will at least call her before the
game this Saturday.
- We as a Board Members are
going to alternate who coordinates the raffles
at Fox&Hound
- Mangels may be able to
go to Fox&Hound for Saturday’s
game. If not, Jennifer will work on someone
to coordinate the raffle.
- We decided to post the
GA Tech tickets on the website & do
an e-bay sort auction.
- Jon is asking Henry where
our two tickets are.
Hurricane Relief Effort
- We decided to participate
in the University’s giving campaign
instead of doing a united North Carolina
fundraising campaign.
- We also encourage members
to donate thru their employer, since several
Charlotte businesses are matching donations.
- Jennifer informed the other
NC Chapters of our decision.
New Member Database
- Jennifer asked Andy to
get us the most up-to-date database of new
Charlotte Alumni
- Once we have the database,
Randi and Derek will contact new alumni
and invite them out to upcoming events.
- We would also like to hold
2 “New Alumni Welcome” events
a year. One in June and one in January.
(after graduation) Randi would head this
up.
